The bill should look like the order
When a customer checks a food bill, the item names and quantities matter more than a polished heading. Start with the order: what was served, how many, and at what price.
Then add the restaurant, bill number, order type, and payment. A walk-in bill does not need a customer name, while a delivery bill may need the phone number and address.
Add the order and check the total
- Add the restaurant: Enter the restaurant name and contact details. Add a logo if you want it on the receipt.
- Add the order: Select dine-in, takeaway, or delivery. Enter the bill number, date, and time.
- Add food and drinks: Enter each item with its price and quantity. The bill total is calculated automatically.
- Add payment details: Select the payment method and enter the amount received. Add tax only when it is needed.
- Check the preview: Make sure the items, quantities, total, and payment details are correct, then download the PDF.
Use the fields that match the order
Dine-in
Add the table number. The server or cashier name can also be shown. Customer details can stay empty unless the guest asks for a named bill.
Takeaway
Add a token number if the restaurant uses one. A note such as “no onion” or “extra cheese” can be added beside the food item.
Delivery
Add the customer name, phone number, and address when they are useful for the order. The table number can stay empty.
Restaurant bill example
A takeaway order has two paneer rolls at ₹160 each and one lime soda at ₹60.
- Paneer rolls: 2 × ₹160 = ₹320
- Lime soda: 1 × ₹60 = ₹60
- Subtotal: ₹380
- Tax: ₹19
- Total: ₹399
If the customer pays ₹399 by UPI, select UPI, mark the bill as paid, and enter ₹399 as the amount received.
A quick check before the bill leaves the counter
- Write the full food or drink name instead of a short code.
- Add every item on a separate line with the correct quantity.
- Write special requests beside the item they belong to.
- Check the table number or token number before downloading.
- Make sure the amount paid and remaining balance are correct.
- Give each bill a different receipt number.
